Where I am now…is so far from where I've been…and so far from where I want to be. Yet, here I am, and I am doing the best to be here, in the now. I've recently had life changes that have given me a new perspective on life, including family deaths, divorce, and missed career opportunities which have all caused for a reevaluation of life dreams and goals.
This is my first blog post, and it is proving difficult to figure out where to begin. My plan is to go back and start telling a few stories that have already taken place, and then add new ones along the way. I chose the name "Life Illustrated" as that is exactly what I'm hoping to do, illustrate stories from my life in a way that shares a bit of my ever-changing perspective. I've had a pretty interesting journey so far, but I've hopefully only scratched the surface of the adventures in my life. During the recent hardships and life changes, I've been doing things in my life to keep things moving forward and on an upward path, not letting the dark times drown out the light.
Though this site may seemed focused on the photos I have taken, I am definitely not a photographer, but rather a life explorer, observer, and perspective sharer. Therefore, it's not about the photos, it's about the story. Everyone and everything has a story, and they're all worth hearing. I hope to motivate and inspire others to get out and listen to the stories that are being told around them everyday, as well as writing more chapters in their own story. I've started selling photos, and do not expect to get rich off of them, but if I could fund a few adventures, I would definitely be living the dream.
If you asked me what my dream is now, it would be to continue to fight the traditional 9-5 job and find ways to continue to have the freedom to explore the world and share it with others. Starting here in this country with my number one girl, Bella the Chocolate Lab, and across the globe whenever the opportunities arise. I learn by doing and seeing, and I'd like to do and see it all, meeting and helping others along the way.
I've shared much of my journey already on Facebook and those who follow me there will most likely be seeing some old posts come back to life on this blog. I'm excited, yet anxious, to go back and collect them, as it will be quite a learning process for myself to see the many changes. For those who don't know much about me or my journey, I'll be working on a longer "about me" blog to offer a perspective of where I started and where I'm at now.
Well, hopefully this will be enough to get us started. I'm not sure how to subscribe to this thing, but if you know how to do that I would be honored to have you along for the journey. If you subscribe, prepare for a wide array of personality traits, as I have been known to cover a broad spectrum.
Happy Holidays to You and Yours
